We are seeking a skilled and technically adept Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has hands-on experience with enterprise-grade security tools, and is passionate about defending digital infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in securing identity systems, endpoints, networks, and cloud environments while coordinating incident response and awareness initiatives. As part of the team, you will also work cross-functionally with other IT teams to maintain robust defenses while driving continuous improvements.

 

The ideal candidate will possess broad knowledge in many areas of information technology and security, including on-prem and cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain identity providers (Okta, Ping, Entra, SecureAuth)
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents using SIEM and other detection tools
  • Configure and review vulnerability scans; provide remediation guidance
  • Develop and maintain security scripts (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation and monitoring
  • Assist in the development of phishing campaigns and contribute to security awareness training content
  • Remote Access VPN administration
  • Collaborate with firewall/network/system engineers
  • Manage endpoint protection platform
  • Administer cloud-based Web Application Firewalls (WAFs)
  • Engage in Microsoft 365 security configurations
  • Conduct Active Directory auditing and monitor for suspicious activity
  • Support system hardening efforts across Linux and Windows environments
  • Participate in on-call rotation for security events and incident response

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in IT security engineering or IT security operations
  • Understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, DNS/DHCP, routing, switching and firewalls)
  • A forward-thinking problem solver with exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to immerse yourself in new technologies
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to cultivate supportive relationships within the IT team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Solid grasp of Linux and Windows OS
