Overview

World Travel Holdings is seeking a Lead UX Designer. In this remote role, the Lead UX Designer will be at the forefront of designing and optimizing user experiences for our online platform. With an emphasis on cruise bookings, your mission will be to enhance conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and accessibility. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create online experiences that make complex purchases feel effortless and enjoyable.

Responsibilities

  • UX Strategy: Lead the development of the UX strategy, aligning it with business objectives, and focusing on a variety of online experiences related to cruise bookings 
  • WCAG Compliance: Ensure all online experiences adhere to WCAG compliance standards, making them accessible to all users, including those with disabilities
  • Landing Page Optimization: Optimize landing pages to maximize conversion rates, using data-driven insights to enhance design, content, and user flows
  • User Research: Conduct user research to gain valuable insights into customer behaviors, pain points, and preferences. Use research findings to inform design decisions and optimizations
  • Information Architecture: Develop and maintain clear information architecture that simplifies navigation and supports complex purchase decisions
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and marketers to establish a cohesive and user-centric design system for online bookings, customer login, and post-booking experiences
  • Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and execute usability testing to validate design concepts and iterate for continual improvement
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with content teams to ensure messaging aligns with UX goals and guides customers through their decision-making process 
  • KPI Tracking: With the support of our Web Analyst, understand key performance indicators (KPIs) related to user experience and conversion, utilizing insights to drive enhancements 
  • UX Advocacy: Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the organization, ensuring the customer perspective is integral to all decisions

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in related field with 3 years of related work experience  
  • Proven experience in User Experience, with a strong background in designing complex online experiences, particularly in e-commerce or the travel industry
  • In-depth knowledge of WCAG compliance and a track record of creating accessible digital interfaces
  • Expertise in landing page optimization and a history of improving conversion rates
  • Proficiency in user research methodologies and translating research insights into actionable design decisions
  • Strong skills in prototyping and usability testing
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, MS office suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and instant messaging tools
  • Outstanding leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A portfolio showcasing a history of successful UX projects and accomplishments
