World Travel Holdings is seeking a remote Software Engineer.  This role will support our Web team that is responsible for design and development of our e-commerce platform running more than 30, very popular, travel websites. The ideal candidate for this position will have expert level technical skills in building high volume, customer facing web applications using Java/J2EE(Or any other OOP language), exceptional communication skills and ability to work in a team oriented agile environment.

  • Own the design and development of Java / J2EE code base for new features and upgrades
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers and testers to develop in an agile environment
  • Work with fellow engineers to extend the patterns and standards for our platform


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience with OOP language (Java, Python etc.)
  • Hands on experience with industry standard frameworks: spring, hibernate, JPA
  • Experience with RESTful API, Micro services, SQL and testing frameworks
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Delivery focused work ethic that takes ownership and produces results
  • Ability to function in an agile team environment using Scrum process
  • Able to multitask and switch tracks as needed
  • Exceptional communication skills, analytical skills and problem solving abilities

More ways to impress us...

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • Experience with high volume customer facing ecommerce web applications
  • Experience with React.js or other JavaScript frameworks
  • Knowledge of EH Cache or other caching solutions including distributed caching
  • Knowledge NoSQL technologies or event driven designs using Rabbit MQ
  • Must be a resident and live in a US state. We do not currently hire in AK, CA, HI, KY, ND, OH, OR, and PA.
