    World Travel Holdings is seeking a Business Development Manager for it's Homebased Division located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for collaborating with travel agents/franchisees to help them grow their business and achieve corporate desired results. You will be directly accountable for promotional activities leading to revenue production resulting from sales by travel agents from assigned territory. You will have the opportunity to create and execute local marketing and promotional programs, as well as design/implement strategies to educate and advise travel agents with the goal of increasing sales, market share and meet or exceed established objectives. This role will also be responsible for developing and executing upon a group strategy designed to drive the growth for affinity and block space.


    • Build and maintain relationships with franchise owners/agents within territory
    • Design and implement strategies for territory management and business development guidance to ensure long-term relationships are consistent and continue to grow in accordance with corporate objectives
    • Review and provide guidance on individual agency business plans
    • Work with GM to analyze, develop and execute opportunities within territory
    • Make assigned sales calls per week in specified territory to travel agency accounts Review group opportunities by supplier and identify any gaps with inventory and destinations
    • Execute a targeted strategy to grow the overall affinity and block group space program for Homebased
    • Collaborate with the Training Team on enhancing the overall group educational content
    • Partner with suppliers to identify best practices for groups and utilize them to provide insight to the network
    • Mine assigned territory for new business streams on a regular basis; research and continually source for new revenue opportunities and methods within territory to achieve sales goals
    • Develop territory account plans and marketing/promotional strategies for assigned account base
    • Analyze sales data in order to present monthly and quarterly business reviews with select accounts across territory
    • Service franchisee/agent needs via problem resolution utilizing knowledge of company products, services and support from headquarter-based team. Follow-up and ensure facilitation of problem through to resolution in a timely fashion
    • Have primary responsibility for co-op needs and territory budget management
    • Conduct sales blitzes to target specific “high-need” sailings or itineraries
    • Lead webinars, seminars, FAM's, and participate in trade shows, etc. as needed
    • Host in territory meetings and meet-ups
    • Participate on a monthly basis in new franchisee training class and host/cohost Business Development session
    • Liaison/Advocate for agents with travel suppliers representatives
    • Complete tactical projects and reporting as assigned
    • Maintain accurate and detailed agency database through Sugar CRM and other tools
    • Remain current on information received by the headquarter team
    • Regularly communicate supplier promotions/incentives with personal insight/guidance to agents


    • Must have 5+ years of sales and marketing experience including a proven track record of success developing and managing sales and marketing plans
    • Strong understanding of group business and executing a targeted group strategy
    • Prior travel or hospitality industry experience is required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
    • Familiar with franchise business models and local marketing initiatives
    • Strong organizational, analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written presentation skills
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to create long term interpersonal relationships, both internally and externally
    • Ability to make project prioritization decisions, communicate rationale, and adjust mid-course
    • Sense of urgency to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
    • Travel up to 50%
