World Travel Holdings is seeking a Vice President of Engagement for its Homebased Division- Dream Vacations, CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall support provided to our Homebased Network, including all agent-facing events, training programs and support services.  You will be responsible for working with the General Manager and other leaders to evolve the overall strategy of engagement within the network while collaborating with both your teams and key stakeholders in executing the strategy, resulting in the continued growth and satisfaction of our Homebased Network. You will have two direct reports and their respective teams reporting up into you – our Director of Training and Events and our Support Services Manager.

Responsibilities

Engage the Homebased Network through training and events:

  • Drive the overall strategy for engagement within the Network while working with the team to develop specific strategies for each brand.
  • Oversee the execution of extended learning opportunities such as seminars at sea, regional trainings, etc. and work with your team to ensure the events deliver valuable growth opportunities for the Homebased Network.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to increase performance and grow revenue with preferred suppliers and third party ancillary revenue items such as travel insurance and shore excursions.
  • Establish a training and events budget with the Senior Leadership team, and ensure your team maximizes spend and reduces company cost through strategic use of sponsorship opportunities.
  • Set the vision for our annual national conference and lead the efforts of the team to deliver flawless execution.
  • Identify key metrics to measure how the events impact our Homebased Network, collaborate with the General Manager to establish targets and report back results on a regular basis.
  • Effectively assist our network by addressing escalated issues as needed.
  • Partner with the General Manager on initiatives and special projects that relate directly with the engagement and overall performance of the network.

 

Engage the Homebased Network through ongoing support:

  • Perform training needs assessments to identify areas of opportunity that deliver value added content related to product, promotions, booking systems, and sales techniques.
  • Measure the effectiveness of various trainings by establishing key performance targets and metrics and report on results.
  • Identify and evaluate various channels of support and work with the support team to implement. Measure ongoing support levels and address gaps.
  • Build relationships with the Homebased Network and foster a culture of openness and collaboration. Collaborate with the Advisory Council and members of various committees on engagement objectives to meet the needs of the Network.
  • Create a communication strategy to filter information to the Homebased Network in a constantly changing environment. Identify effectiveness of current communication channels such as the business center and email, and generate an action plan to improve those channels and introduce new channels if needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance,  marketing or related field
  • Previous travel industry experience required
  • Must have a dynamic and engaging presence with a proven track record of successfully leading, building, developing and motivating teams
  • Past experience managing large budgets
  • Ability to think strategically, lead and influence senior management and key customers, and drive change
  • Strong negotiating skills, and charisma to  build rapport with internal and external partners
  • Proven analytical ability.  Must be savvy and passionate about numbers, market indicators and metrics, and  ability to translate hard data into insight and action 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problem solving skills with  ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment, communicate rationale and make adjustments mid-course
  • Must love travel! The person in this role should expect to travel on a monthly basis
